Museveni president by treason, not election – Besigye

The Forum for Democratic Change (FDC)’s former president Rt. Col. Dr. Kiiza Besigye said that H.E Yowereri Kaguta Museveni is president by treason not election.

Besigye made this statement during the second day of the FDC 10th  National Council meeting held at the party Headquarters in Najjanankumbi along Entebbe Road in Wakiso District.

Besigye emphasized that he won the 2016 elections but his victory was grabbed by the ruling party an act that is treasonable.

“I have challenged those that dragged me to court for swearing myself in as the legitimate president of Uganda to bring evidence that I lost the race, they have fully failed. Otherwise I pleads guilty, I won the 2016 elections. The electoral process was sabotaged, Museveni is president by treason not by election.” Besigye said.

Besigye also warned party members against switching political parties citing that it creates mistrust and degrades ones reputation.

“Imagine if I called for a rally and told people that we should join M7, what would their reaction be? I think I can even be stoned to death.” Besigye added.

Several opposition members have been bribed with juicy positions and have ended up joining the ruling party like Minister Christopher Kibanzanga the Chief Prince Rwenzururu Kingdom who was one of the founder members of FDC but recently joined NRM because of job.
