Munyagwa wants FDC presidency Job

Famous Kawempe South Member of Parliament Hon. Mubarak Munyagwa has showed his intentions of running the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) top most job.

Speaking to Journalists earlier this morning, Munyagwa aka Mugati Gwa Batta said that the party needs an activist president to support Kizza Besigye in the struggle to redeem the country.

“I’m not joking as some people want to assume. We must change the nomenclature of FDC party.” Munyagwa stated.

Munyagwa further added that the current leadership has betrayed the party by executing controversial moves like appointing shadow cabinet yet we won elections.

“You can’t say we (FDC) won the election and then you go ahead to have a shadow cabinet in Parliament. FDC is like a team with a prolific striker but with a weak midfield. Besigye is scoring goals but our midfield can’t hold the ball.” Munyagwa added.

The FDC secretariat recently released the road map for the election of the party president.

The nomination of candidates seeking the party’s highest office will be held on 14th and 16th August and the open campaigns will rum for four months starting 17th August up to 16th November 2017.

The election for the party president will be held on 17th November during the delegates’ conference and the swearing in of the new president will be held on 18th November 2017.

For one to contest for this position, they must have a minimum of an A level certificate, pay a nonrefundable fee of Shs 3M and must also be a member of the party.
