Choose Either to Be Musician Or Politician — Police Boss Tells Bobi Wine

Kampala Metropolitan Police boss, Frank Mwesigwa has told Bobi Wine that he choose between being a musician and politician, the Theinsider reports.

While on NBSTV earlier today, CP Frank Mwesigwa further acknowledges the ban to stop the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine from performing at events because he used his concert at Busabala last Sunday to indulge the audience in political discussion an action that was against the agreement between police force and the legislator.

“We agreed with Bobi Wine that Busabala Concert was going to be about music not politics but he started consulting during his concert. Music is not supposed to be partisan. One cannot use music to push their political ambitions,” Mwesigwa said.

He added that it was relevant to slap a ban on joint consultations because most legislators were using the opportunity to incite violence amongst people and also intimidate each other which was not rightful and as security officers, they had to come out and play their role.

“The content of these rallies is what matters a lot. Statements made by some MPs aren’t about consulting.”

The leader of opposition, Hon Winnie Kiiza however promised to sue Uganda Police for the ban on the joint consultations which according to her is illegal and is meant to cripple those trying to stop the amendment of the constitution.

However, Frank Mwesigwa further informed viewers that Police is more than ready to face court and it cannot be scared when it is doing her duty to serve and protect the country.
