Uhuru says ready to meet IEBC boss for a cup of tea ahead of election day

President Uhuru Kenyatta has softened his stance on meeting IEBC ahead of the repeat poll on Thursday, October 26.

Uhuru said his door is open to the IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati for any discussion.

This change of mind comes three days after Uhuru snubbed a meeting with Chebukati President Uhuru Kenyatta has indicated that he is now willing to meet with Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission Chairman Wafula Chebukati with just two days to the repeat presidential election scheduled for October 26.

Speaking on Monday, October 23, during a joint interview with radio stations that broadcast in the Kikuyu language, Uhuru said he was willing to sit down and have a cup of tea with Chebukati.

“I am willing to meet IEBC Chair Chebukati. I have no conditions ahead of the October 26 poll. My door is open and if he has something he wants discussed, he is free to come over we have a cup of tea,” said President Uhuru.
