Parliament Approves 7 New Judges

The Parliamentary committee on Appointments has on Wednesday successfully vetted and approved 7 new judges of the Court of Appeal and High Court.

The committee chaired by Speaker Rebecca Kadaga interviewed the first lot of the newly appointed judges who were recently appointed by President Yoweri Museveni.

According to an MP who sits on the committee, but preferred to speak on anonymity, all the 7 nominees were successfully interviewed and approved.

The judges include; Justices Christopher Madrama, Stephen Musota, Percy Tuhaise and Ezekiel Muhanguzi, Jane Adobo, Cornelia Sabiiti, Paul Gadenya.

According to a letter dated February 7, 2018, Clerk to Parliament Jane Kibirige Lubowa invited members of the parliamentary appointment committee to vet the said judges on February 14 and 15th.

The other judges who will be vetted tomorrow include; Richard Wabwire, Joyce Kavuma, Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya, Alex Ajiji, Taddeo Asiimwe and Emmanuel Baguma.
