Mukono municipality Member of Parliament Hon. Betty Nambooze has this morning appeared before the Court hearing age limit petitions in Mbale for cross examination.

Nambooze was the first official to be cross examined was asked to narrate the dubious raid of Parliament by unknown commandos.

In response to whether the lawmaker was not aware about the rule of Procedure that demanded her not to disobey speakers orders in the House, Nambooze revealed that she was not given room to defend herself.

“I lord I know about the rules of procedure, and I was willing to move out but the problem is that we were not even allowed to defend ourselves and secondly by the time our names were read, parliament was already under siege.” Nambooze narrated to the Judges.

Today Tuesday 17th, is the day that was situated by the court to hear cross examination of different government officials implicated in the controversial amendment of the presidential age limit bill that left lawmakers clobbered.

Some of the top government officials to be cross-examined are the Chief of Defence Forces Gen. David Muhoozi, head of public service John Mitala, MPs Moses Balyeku and Margaret Muhanga and the Secretary to Treasury Keith Muhakanizi. Other officials that the petitioners want summoned by court are; police officers Frank Mwesigwa and Asuman Mugyenyi, the Clerk to Parliament Jane Kibirige and the Sergeant At Arms Ahmed Kagoye.
