The Electoral Commission chairperson Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi has today set 15th August as the day that the parliamentary by-election for Arua municipality will be held.
According to the Electoral Commission program, the program will start with updating the voters’ register on 5th July.
Byabakama says they are going to hold dialogue with the local leaders and these expecting to run for the vacancy ahead of the highly anticipated exercise.
This by-election follows the death of the area Member of Parliament Hon. Ibrahim Abiriga who was killed along with his body guard in Kawanda a Kampala suburb.
