Former Soroti MP Ekemu, Father Dead

The father of the Late Hon. Charles Willy Ekemu has also died just a day after the death of the son.

Former Soroti Municipality MP Charles Willy Ekemu  was battling liver cancer at Nsambya Hospital.

Ekemu was elected Member of Parliament after he defeated Capt. Mike Mukula in 2006. He however lost party primaries to Comrade Attan Okia Moses in 2011 hence contesting as an independent.

He eventually lost the seat to Capt. Mukula and in 2016 he went to Ngora District but was unsuccessful.

The public has described him as a humble, soft spoken, loving and a gallant promoter of the struggle for Change and peace in this country.

According to the family members, the tentative program for the burial for Hon Charles Willy Ekemu is as detailed below,

Saturday: Prayers at Uganda Martyrs church Namugongo at 3:00pm.

Sunday: The body will be taken to Soroti.

Monday: Public viewing of the body at Soroti Lukiko Hall and there after prayers at St immaculate Church Soroti.

Tuesday: Burial at his ancestral home in Kapir Sub County, Ngora District at 2.00pm.
