Kamya bitter about Vendors, they never voted her – Ssemujju

Ssemujju Nganda

The Kiira municipality legislator Hon. Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda has said the minister for Kampala Hon. Betty Kamya is frustrated and acrimonious about vendors because they never voted for her in the recent elections.

Speaking while appearing on the Capital Gang on Saturday 04th March, Ssemujju asked whether developing means construction of mall and displacement of people.

“Decongesting the city does not mean grabbing people’s land and property and if Kamya is bragging about development, is she developing the people she evicted? Development is not driving cars and building of skyscrapers when people are surviving on one meal and water like fish”.

Last week, minister for Kampala Hon. Betty Kamya forcefully evicted about 2000 vendors who were operation in park yard market on grounds of developing and decongesting the city without allocating them new places.

In 2016 general elections, Minister Kamya aspired for the Member of Parliament position of Rubaga North constituency, she devastatingly lost to one Moses Kasibante but was auspiciously saved off the streets by the president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni who appointed her minister of Kampala.
