Gen Tumukunde Henry who doubles as the minister for security has challenged all actors in the chain of fighting crime to act with urgency in resolving crime.
“Challenge is that we (intelligence) act to a certain level. Then others (prosecution etc) take over. Their level of appreciation of urgency in resolving cases may not be the same as ours (intelligence).” Said Gen. Tumukunde.
Speaking while appearing NTV Forth Estate talk show on Sunday night, Gen Tumukunde added that Ugandans should report all threats however small they may be and emphasized the use of social media to report.
Speaking about stick wielding hooligans seen on operations in Kampala, Gen Tumukunde responded that “No undercover agent would expose himself. That would be a grave mistake. It is only when an agent faces life-threatening circumstances that they may resort to use of a weapon”.
He however assured security of all Ugandans vowing that criminals alleged to be collaborating with the police will be taken on and finalized by apologizing to Ugandans for the incidents.
