Ssekandi urges MPs to enhance their knowledge to make useful contributions in Parliament

The Vice President HE Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi has urged Members of Parliament to utilize the library to enhance their knowledge and make useful contributions in Parliament.
Ssekandi sounded the call, Tuesday, 28th March 2017 when he visited the Parliament Library to get information from law books.
The Vice President who usually visits the Library said the MPs must embrace the use of information resources available to them and speak from informed points of view.
“The MPs should use the library and other online platforms like Alfresco in order to enhance their research and make good informed decisions while on the Floor and in the committees,” he said.

Alfresco is an online platform where parliamentary documents like reports, bills, ministerial policy statements and other resources are uploaded for MPs to access via their ipads.
Speaking to one of the Librarians, Clare Oyella, the Vice President extended his appreciation to the management for increasing on the number of collections which have been useful to him every time he has visited the Library.
“I always get information about legislation which I cannot find elsewhere; this is why I keep coming back here,” he added.
