National Resistance Movement’s Rehema Wetongola has won the Kamuli Municipality Member of Parliament By-election with 8726 defeating FDC’s Salaamu Musumba with 5778.
Though the electoral process was characterized of chaos and exchange of bitter words, its important to note that it has climaxed peacefully said the Electoral commission.
However following the incidents of findings weapons in Salaam Musumba’s car, she is apparently having more questions to answer to the police besides having been defeated.
The by-election that follows the nullification of Rehema Watongola’s 2016 victory over lack of academic qualifications.
This by-election has a total number of five candidates including, incumbent Rehema Watongola- a representative of the ruling National Resistance Movement – NRM party and Proscovia Salaamu Musumba, representing the opposition Forum for Democratic Change.
