Ugandan Olympic gold medalist Stephen Kiprotich has again exhibited wonderful performance by completing second at the Haspa Hamburg International Marathon in Germany on Sunday morning, April 23.
The marathon was won by Ethiopia’s Tsegaye Mekonnen who completed the final 100 metres in a sprint tape reading of 2:07:26, with Kiprotich finishing at a timing of 2:07:31.
The third in a marathon was Kenya’s Jacob Kendagor at 2:08:50.
Kiprotich, who has formerly won two global titles, becomes the first Olympic champion to compete in Hamburg’s elite field.
The elite runners, including Kiprotich, will share 300,000 Euros (Approx. Shs1.16 billion).
