Increasing insecurity; Besigye wants Kayihura to resign

Former presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye accused the government for neglecting being responsible for the food crisis and insecurity in Uganda.

Speaking while addressing journalists today at his office in Katanga, Besigye articulated that its high time IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura resigned since he has failed to provide security to the Ugandans.

Besigye says that after the outcry of increasing insecurity in the country with hit men terrorizing people across the country, Kayihura paraded suspects which is unacceptable in the constitution of Uganda to parade suspects who have not been proven guilty.

He thus says that since Kayihura has failed to manage his office which is being given a lot of money to provide security in the country, he should be thrown out of office and have an independent inquiry in the security forces if security is to be regained in the country.

Beisgye also said that the beigest crisis we’ve in this country is the regime itself. A regime of over 30 years doesn’t even have a food reserve. Instead of investing in agriculture, they’re busy investing in building State House and filling it with brown envelopes.
