VIDEO: Museveni says will not change the constitution

The 72 year old president of the Republic of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has vowed not to Change the constitution as the speculations have been running in different Media houses.

“We will follow the constitution, I cannot change the Constitution because I do not have the power.” Museveni said when asked if he was planning to run for another term as president of Uganda.

Speaking during the exclusive interview with Al Jazeera during the weekend, Museveni described Uganda as the most democratic country in the world and that he is leading Ugandans out of poverty and to an even better future.
He also dismissed the claims that his party the National Resistance Movement manipulated elections and also preparing either his wife or his son to replace him.
“Why should I prepare them? The people of Uganda will choose the one they want… There is no way I can choose for them, my wife, or my son, or even other people,” he added.

When told that Ugandans hate him, Museveni reacted by clarifying that his party got 62 per cent of the votes saying that it’s enough to depict that the people of Uganda are not fed up of him and his party [NRM].
