Martyrs’ Day Celebrations, More 250M Needed

The Organizing committee for the 3rd June martyrs day celebrations  at Namugongo is still constrained in a financial crisis of 250 million shillings required to meet the 500 million shillings that was budgeted for the event.

In abide to get the required funds, the committee has organized various fundraising events including a cultural gala at nderere centre Ntinda and martyrs walk from Munyonyo on the 20th and 27th this month respectively amongst others in addition to appealing to those that pledged to fulfill their pledges.

Speaking to Journalists, the head of communications for the event Rev. Jude Ssemambo at the catholic secretariat Nsambya reviled that Hoima diocese Bishop Vicent Kirabo will lead this year’s celebration after 17 years.

This year’ celebrations are expected to be attended by over three million pilgrims and will run under the theme: stand firm in the faith that you have been taught, appealing to everyone to be proud of is faith, be faithful in all their works, families and at national issues.

The pilgrims from Hoima diocese will start their journey on the 25th this month thus a call to support all the pilgrims as a way of exhibiting the country’s true character of being hospital.
