The Uganda People’s Defense Forces Commander in Chief President Yoweri Museveni has promoted hundreds of army officers.
The promotions included those who commanded troops in Central Africa Republic hunting for elusive rebel leader Joseph Kony.
The Army spokesperson Brig. Richard Karemire revealed that 300 officers have been promoted including Col Richard Otto the UPDF contingent commander in Central Africa Republic has also been elevated to the rank of Brigadier, Col Stephen Kashure Director of Operation Wealth Creation has been promoted to Brigadier.
Brig. John Mugume, the Managing Director of the Army Shop now becomes a Major General, is the highest-ranking military officer among those promoted among others.
