The CAF Congress that convened on Monday morning in Manama, Bahrain appointed FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo as a CAF Executive Committee Member. FA Presidents are in Bahrain for Thursday’s FIFA Congress.
Magogo’s appointment was confirmed today on the same day Ghana’s Kwesi Nyantakyi and DRC’s Constant Omari Selemani were named 1st and 2nd Vice Presidents respectively.
Magogo becomes the first Ugandan to be named on the CAF Executive in the institution’s history.
He will be on the CAF Executive Committee for the cycle 2017-2021.
CAF was founded in 1957.
A message from the FUFA President upon appointment
‘In recognition of the progress of football development in Uganda and contribution towards African football, I have been appointed a member of the CAF Executive Committee 2017 – 2021 and a member of the CAF Reforms Committee’ said Magogo.
Nigerian FA Boss Amaju Pinnick was appointed Chairman for two committees- Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) and media.
Former Zambian international Kalusha Bwalya will head the CAF Technical and Development committee while Djibouti FA President Sulaiman Waberi is the new Referees committee chairman.
