Unlike the days when it was as if the role of police was to hunt and hit former Presidential Candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye, apparently things are totally different.
I hope you remember the walk to work days, when Besigye narrowly became blind due to police wrath, things changed slowly and in 2015 when he was nominated at Nakivubo, some of the people were super excited were the Police officers who were even seen jamming to the famous Toka Kwa Barabara hit song.
Recently as Besigye was in Kamuli, several police officers were seen according him respect, saluting him and even escorting him peacefully where ever he went unlike the past when they always followed him with sticks and metal bars.
Today’s unbelievable incident happened in Toroma Katakwi as arrived in the area to campaign for FDC candidate Odama Martin.
In the same faith, the famous Lord Mayor Elias Lukwago is also enjoying the same privilege and respect from the police.
We should always give credit where it deserves, Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura must be doing a great job.
However amidst all this, Besigye has on several occasions claimed that most of his supporters are the men in uniform.
