The Judiciary has in a fairly big shake-up, transferred 40 non judicial staff from one duty station to another; country wide.
The affected transferred non judicial officers are in the categories of court clerks/interpreters, clerical officers, office attendants, records assistants,process servers, security guards (askaris)and telephone operators.
According to communique by the Commissioner Human Resource Mrs Josephine Muwonge dated May 12, 2017 the redeployment of the affected non judicial staff takes effect on May 19, 2017.
The communique has been directed to all Registrars, Deputy Registrars, Assistant Registrars and Chief Magistrates in charge of courts.
Mrs Muwonge has also directed that the affected staff properly hand over their respective offices in accordance with public service standing orders.
Some of the redeployed non judicial staff had been at their old duty stations for up to 14 years.
“This is to inform you that the under listed staff have been redeployed with effect from 19 May 2017 in line with the Uganda Public Service Standing Orders,” reads in part the redeployment memo by the head of Human resource
“The release stations/courts should ensure that the affected staff properly hand over office in accordance with regulations while the receiving courts/stations are required to provide reports on assumption of duty,” Mrs Muwonge further wrote.
