The Forum for Democratic Change has vowed to knockout all the opponents in the forthcoming Kyadondo East Parliamentary by-election.

Speaking while appearing on Pearl FM on Tuesday evening, the Party secretary General Harold Kaija added that it’s on record, the FDC strength started in Kyadondo during the reign of fallen leader Hon. Sam Njuba therefore there is no doubt, FDC will win the race.

“We are going to hunt for votes like a bushman hunting for ants in a desert, this is our Seat, we lost it because of the carelessness of the electoral commission. We must retain it at all costs.” Kaija said.

He also announced that the party will be launching its Flag bearer’s campaigns on Sunday and called upon all the people to attend in huge numbers.

Currently the Forum for Democratic Change party has challenges in the race with some members abandoning their candidate for the Famous musician Robert Ssentamu Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine who is on an independent ticket.

Apollo Kantinti, a member of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), is also back in the race to reclaim his seat. Others are Independent candidate Nkuyingi Muwada, William Sitenda Ssebalu of the National Resistance Movement, Kayongo Sowedi Male, Democratic Party’s Lilian Babirye and Kasasa Edward who is also an independent candidate.

The seat fell vacant after the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the High Court decision nullifying the election of Apollo Kantinti.

Court ruled that there was non-compliance with election rules during the February 18, 2016 elections, including disfranchising the voters and also failing to secure custody of election materials.
