There has been a series of mixed reactions in Kampala following the commissioning of the Modern arrest Vans by the Uganda Police.
According to Harold Kaija the secretary General of the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) attacked the government that the money would have procured ambulances not arrest vans because several districts In Uganda have no emergency cars.
He added that this act portrays the government’s mission which is not about protecting and providing for Ugandans but how to consolidate power.
The Inspector General of Police Gen Kale Kayihura yesterday inspected two samples of police arrest vans at police headquarters Naguru, designed with a fixed cage in the rear of the vehicle with cushioned seats that are intended to provide suspects with the necessary comfort.
