Museveni camps in Kyadondo East ahead of voting day

Uganda’s President and ruling party National Resistance Movement (NRM)  Yoweri Museveni

As Kyadondo East Parliamentary By-election date clocks closer, news reaching our desk reveal that president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni  is planning to camp in the area to see that Bobi Wine and other opposition candidates don’t find way into the August House.

According to the NRM road map, the head of state is expected to arrive in the area to campaign for the party’s embattled candidate Ssebalu Sitenda.

Sitanda who is also apparently busy splashing the Billions of money secured from the party secretariat into the voters says It is not a battle of talking more words but It is about who is on ground and vows be at the voting station as early as 7am.

Museveni who will be escorted by S.G. Kasule Lumumba, the Wakiso District Woman MP Hon. Rosemary Sseninde with other officials will address voters at the main rally and his crew shall leave the area until votes are declared on 29th June 2017.

However the Forum for Democratic Party team (Hon. Apollo Kantinti) affirmed that they are aware about all tricks to be used which they are ready to battle up to the last hour.

The seat fell vacant after the Court of Appeal upheld the decision of the High Court decision nullifying the election of Apollo Kantinti. Court ruled that there was non-compliance with election rules during the February 18, 2016 elections, including disfranchising the voters and also failing to secure custody of election materials.

The race has six candidates incuding famous musician Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu, (Independent), Apollo Kantinti (FDC)  Nkuyingi Muwada (Independent), William Sitenda Ssebalu of the National Resistance Movement, Kayongo Sowedi Male, Kasasa Edward who is also an independent candidate.
