Officials from the ministry of finance have broken the silence when they revealed that there is no money to run the new districts.
According to permanent secretary and secretary to Treasury, Ministry of Finance Keith Muhakanizi says that he advised the political leaders how there was no money but was shocked when he was ignored.
“I advised that there was no money for the new districts but the political leadership ignored me”, said Muhakanizi.
Muhakanizi made these statements while appearing before the Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Committee.
The election of LC V chairpersons and Women MPs now hangs in a balance as Finance and Electoral Commission say there is no that electoral process.
Four districts were added last year and six this year raising the number to 122 districts.
