More Uganda Cranes players join the team training ahead of Rwanda match

Coach Moses Basena closely monitors the players in a match situation under limited spaces

When the Uganda Cranes team preparing for the 2018 TOTAL CHAN two legged qualifier against Rwanda convened on the second day of non-residential training, 12 more players joined the session.

The 2 hour session was held at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole on Thursday evening.

The players who joined on Thursday having missed the opening day session are; Isaac Muleme, Frank Tumwesigye, Tom Masiko, Deus Bukenya, Rashid Toha, Muhammed Shaban, Erisa Ssekisambu, Nico Wakiro Wadada, Moses Wasiwa, as well as goalies Tom Ikara and Ismail Watenga.

Coaches Fred Kajoba and Moses Basena took the players through the paces as usual.

Whilst Kajoba concentrated on the 4 goalkeepers, Basena focused on the outfield players.

“I am glad to have joined the team training. It gives me special honour to play for the national team. We are focused and determined to knock out Rwanda and once again qualify for CHAN 2018 tournament in Kenya” midfielder Moses Waiswa told www.fufa.co.ug after the session.

The non-residential training continues on Friday evening at Namboole stadium (4 p.m)

Uganda Cranes is preparing for the second round of the 2018 TOTAL CHAN Championship qualifier against Rwanda.

Players who attended the Thursday training session:

Goalkeepers: Benjamin Ochan, Ismail Watenga, Tom Ikara and Keni Saidi

Defenders: John Adriko, Bernard Muwanga, Timothy Denis Awanyi, Savio Kabugo, Paul Musamali, Isaac Muleme, Nico Wakiro Wadada, Rashid Toha

Midfielders: Nicolas Kasozi, Muzamiru Mutyaba, Shafiq Kagimu, Simon Sserunkuma, Erisa Ssekisambu, Deus Bukenya, Tom Masiko, Frank ‘Zagga’ Tumwesigye, Moses Waiswa

Strikers: Nelson Sentakuka, Paul Mucureezi, Derrick Nsibambi, Muhammed Shaban

Training Programme:                 

2nd-5th August, 4pm at Namboole Stadium

6th August-Rest Day

7th -11th August 4pm-St Mary’s Stadium
