UN Security Council condemns al-Shabaab’s attack against the Ugandan contingent of the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) which killed 12 soldiers and injured seven.
“The members of the Security Council honored the sacrifice and dedication of AMISOM troops to combating terrorism in Somalia and paid tribute to all Somali and international actors working to bring peace and stability in Somalia,” part of statement reads.
The Uganda People’s Defence Force [UPDF] peacekeeping force in Somalia lost 12 gallant soldiers with 07 sustaining injuries.
