Police officer Gilbert Arinaitwe Bwana facing rape charges has been granted bail.
According to the Professional Standards unit (PSU) spokesperson Vincent Ssekate the forensic department has already carried out an investigation in Arinaitwe’s where the alleged rape case is claimed to have been carried out.
He adds that the file has been submitted to the state attorney for perusal and legal advice adding that the suspect has been given police bond pending conclusion of the investigation.
On Friday last week, Arinaitwe was arrested for allegedly raping a woman.
Gilbert Arinaitwe Bwana, rose to fame when he pepper spayed opposition politician Dr Kizza Besige during the walk-to work demonstrations in 2011.
