The Kampla city Minister Hon. Betty Kamya has finally secured police backup for the city Council law enforcement team.
In the meeting held at the office of the Prime Minister, the Uganda police team agreed to start working to ensure safety of KCCA law enforcement team as they execute their work.
This follows the controversial death of a woman hawker who was allegedly chased by KCCA enforcement team generating public outcry.
According to the Kampala metropolitan police commander Frank Mwesigwa and the Kampala minister Betty Kamya, both agreed that police intervention is needed to bring sanity in enforcement work.
Mwesigwa added that as police they are ready to offer police backing to law enforcers to ensure their safety.
