FDC needs a leader who will ‘hit Museveni hard’ – POA

Former legislator Hon. Patrick Amuriat one of the candidates vying for the FDC party presidency seat has revealed more reasons why Uganda’s leading opposition should entrust him votes.

Speaking to NBS TV early this morning, he added that he is not in FDC and vying for the position just to pass time but to transform the party.

Patrick who has rebranded himself as ‘POA’ an abbreviation for his names and Swahili word meaning cool noted like others he would have joined NRM but he believes he is the Change the party needs to hit Museveni Hard not negotiating for power.

“We would have gone to the NRM by now but we’re stuck to FDC because we believe we’re the ones to change this country. If you know the obstacle (referring to President Museveni) facing Ugandan’s, you would have to get rid of it first then start developing the country.” He said.

Five candidates nominated to vie for Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) presidency to formally begin campaigns today and the exercise is scheduled to take 90 days.

The five candidates vying for party presidency are Mugisha Muntu, former Kumi MP Patrick Oboi Amuriat, Kawempe South MP Mubarak Munyagwa, Moses Byamugisha and Dan Malcom Matsiko.
