Ministry of Internal Affairs has resumed the normal operations in the issuance of passports to the public
According to the press statement issued today 21st August 2017 by the directorate of citizenship and immigration control, normal operations have resumed.
They ministry is optimistic that clearing of the backlog caused by the shortage of passport booklets will take only two weeks.
The proven emergency passport applications will also continue to be issued depending on the urgency of the cases.
Government in June 2017 halted issuance of ordinary passports due to shortage of booklets, urging applicants to be patient until the shortage was addressed.
