Basena releases 27 man squad for Egypt double header

The Uganda Cranes interim coach has on Wednesday addressed the media during a press conference at FUFA House in Mengo, Kampala.

Basena released a 27 man sqaud that will take on Egypt for the double header in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

‘I wish to thank the players, FUFA, media and all the Ugandans for the support during the recently concluded successful CHAN qualification campaign. It is great that we qualified, a process that we shall build on for the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Egypt’ Basena said.

During the press conference, Basena was flanked by the FUFA Communications Manager Ahmed Hussein, Decolas Kiiza (FUFA Finance Director) and Patrick Ntege Kaweesa (The National Teams’ Officer).

The team continues with the non residential training sessions at Mandela national Stadium, Namboole on Wednesday evening.

This weekend, the team will travel for the national team regional tours in North East (Bukedea).
