Mufti of Uganda Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubajje has called upon all the Muslims across the country to be peaceful people.
Mubajje mande these remarks while leading prayers at Old Kampala mosque on Friday 1st September.
“We need to work together with the community and stakeholders to rescue our country from all human rights injustices. We pray that Allah protects and guides all Muslims to avoid being arrested.” He said.
He also noted that all Muslims need to stay united and continue getting blessings from Allah.
Muslims around the world are celebrating the festival of Eid al-Adha, held after the Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.
The multi-day festival, also known as the Feast of the Sacrifice, is one of the two most important Islamic festivals.
It commemorates Abraham’s willingness to sacrifice his son to God and during the festival, it is traditional to sacrifice an animal.
