MP. Bobi Wine

Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Hon. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu shocked the world when he made challenged the internal affairs minister and the entire security on the recent Wakiso district murders.

Speaking while making his presentation in Parliament on Thursday afternoon, Bobi Wine rejected the issue of witchcraft associated with the murders as alleged by Gen. Jeje Odong.

He said that government should not only concentrate on Entebbe murders and forget the entire country because the murders have even stretched to government officials.

He also noted that anything affecting women, daughters or wives affects all Ugandans citing that the unresolved murders have for long affected boda boda riders, Muslim Clerics, high profile government workers like State Prosecutor Joan Kagezi and former Asst. IGP Andrew Felix Kaweesi before getting to women.

“We should focus on the killings, which are affecting all Ugandans, not women only. Government should not wait until this problem escalates before it can take action,” said Hon. Kyagulanyi.

On Tuesday deputy speaker Jacob Oulanya suspended plenary sittings following the absence of the two who were tasked to file a report explaining the mysterious killings of women in Wakiso District.

Yesterday the Minister of Internal affairs Gen. Jeje Odong told the house that the recent women murders are linked to witchcraft.

He said that after thorough investigations, it was confirmed that most of these were carried out by a notorious killer known as Ibrahim Kaweesa who confessed to have been hired by a one Philip Tumuhibise to kill for him 12 women for ritual purposes.

However Minister Jeje Odong has assured the August House that the situation is under control since all the prime suspects are in police custody.
