Done Deal: NRM MPS pass Motion to Lift Term Limits

NRM MPs in the meeting chaired by the Minister of Defence, Adolf Mwesige

A number of Ministers and National Resistance Movement Members of Parliament have today moved and adopted a motion to remove the Presidential Age Limit from the Constitution.

The NRM MPs sat in an extraordinary meeting today at Parliament and voted to lift the contentious amendment of Article 102(b) of the Constitution.

The motion was moved by the Kyaka County MP, Jakson Rwakafuuzi, a lawyer by professional, and seconded by all the attendants except one — Kumi Woman MP, Monica Amoding.

“All sectors sectors are dead. What explanation do we have at this time for the electorates? We have not even touched on implementing the manifesto’’, Angry Amoding protested.

Amoding also protested for including her name among backers of age limit removal without her consent saying that she was never consulted.

“The constitution should be respected and not amended to suit one person’s desire. I didn’t know the meeting was about article 102 (b)”, Amonding said.

She added;  “Mr. Chairman, when you invited us here i didnt knw the meeting was about 102. I believe this is trickery and a pompous discussion”.

The meeting was chaired by MP for Bubyangabu County and the minister of Defence, Hon. Adolf Kasaija Mwesige.
