Leadership not about being fit, if you 75 retire, NRM’s Ogong tells Museveni

Felix Okot Ogong

Dokolo south legislator Hon. Felix Okot Ogong has described the move by the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party MPs to scrap off the age limit clause from the constitution as a sign of betrayal and being unpatriotic.

Speaking while appearing on NBS TV Early this morning, Okot added that president Museveni’s time is up therefore should give room another person because mature politics is not about an individual but about the ideology.

“For our party, our chairperson’s time is up; by 2021, he will be over 75 years. Being fit doesn’t matter in leadership. Leadership is about vision of a group and not one person.” He said.

On giving his take about the meeting held at the Prime Ministers Office where NRM convened  to resolve their take on Thursday’s long awaited motion Okot said, “I was not invited for the caucus meeting, there was no message or oral communication. This agenda is not from NRM party. These are private members who have started the debate without consulting the party.”
