The third Deputy Prime Minister has been taken to Mulago after being involved in a nasty accident att Buwunga B Village in Magamaga along the Jinja-Iganga highway in Mayuge district at 8:00pm.
He was returning to Kampala from Campaigns in the New Created district of Namisindwa when the Vehicle he was traveling in rammed with a tractor.
The Busoga Region Police spokesperson James Mubi narrates that tractor Reg No. UAN 051P crashed with Kirunda’s Vehicle Reg No. UG 0019L at around 8:00 PM.
James adds that the Ministers for East African Affairs was rushed to Jinja referral hospital municipality as they establish the cause of the accident and the vehicle has been towed away to Magamaga police post.
Hon Kirunda had traveled to Namisindwa District to campaign for NRM Candidates George William Wopuwa (LCV) and Namukhula Grace Watuwa who is vying a Parliamentary seat for the newly created district.
