Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago is demanding for an apology from police for allegedly manhandling him as he was arrested from his home at Wakalinga, Rubaga Division.
Speaking while appearing on CBS FM Saturday morning talk show, the rule of Law advocate mocked the Inspector General of Police Gen. Kale Kayihura for sending his officers with intensions to hurt him.
“Those officers ashamed me, made me move naked, hurt me but still the fact is that I cannot be threatened, the battle is still on, however that was my day and Kayihura’s day is also coming.” Lukwago said.
He also accused the police of raiding his office and that of his deputy at city hall without a search warrant something that forced demand for compensation.
Lukwago and several other opposition leaders were on Thursday arrested on suspicion that they were planning to take part in the anti-age limit protests ahead of the controversial parliamentary debate that flopped after chaotic scenes happening.
