Kyadondo East Members of parliament Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine and Makindye East MP Hon. Allan Ssewanyana survived death last night after ‘grenades’ went off at their homes late in the night.
‘‘People have thrown a grenade/explosive at my home 1:20am……need some rescue…I’m told the same has happened to Hon Kyagulanyi’s home’’ Allan Ssewanyana posted on Facebook.
Moments later, another grenade went off at Bobi Wine’s home.
“Grenades have for the second time in two days been thrown at my house [ home] in Magere, Wakiso district and exploded. Property damaged and no one hurt! But what kind of country are we now living in? I had decided to ignore the blasts and these threats, but it seems they are now getting real. ‘’ Bobi Wine posted on social media.
The singer turned politician says three explosives were thrown near his sons bedroom.
Mr Kyagulanyi further noted that he has been receiving death threats on an almost daily basis.
According to Police they are investigating circumstances under which the homes of two Opposition Members of Parliament were attacked with suspected grenades in the wee hours of Tuesday morning just days after another Opposition MP survived a similar incident.
Last week, two explosives ripped through the house of Rubaga North MP Moses Kasibante only an hour after police returned him home after Wednesday’s detention over the age limit controversy.
