Ofwono

Government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo has distanced government from the unfortunate grenade incidences that happened in opposition leader’s homes.

Ofwono described the attacks and explosions as scare tactics to frame government.

In a Facebook post on the official Page of the Uganda Media Centre, Opondo says what the politicians are describing as real grenades are Flash bang grenades which are used to for training purposes and are not harmful.

He adds that some opposition elements could have acquired them. He ends his post with the #FakeNews and  #AgeLimitUg.

Early this morning the opposition leaders Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine and Makindye’s Allan Ssewanyana were shocked to find explosives in their compounds.

However Kampala Police Commandant Frank Mwesigwa says they are investigating issue.

“Our teams are still in the field gathering info about the incidences. We shall get whoever is behind the grenades. The grenade attacks are just meant to cause panic.” Said Frank.
