President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has called upon Ugandans to remain calm during the age limit season that is soon starting.
Museveni made this statement in the letter he wrote to the Kyadondo East lawmaker Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine in response to his age limit message that went viral last month.
On a special note, the head of state vowed to confront the people intimidating their fellows and threatening peace over age limit removal saga sighting that everyone deserves to speak his mind freely without threats.
“The Age Limit Debate is starting. I will give my views at the right time. What is not acceptable, however, is intimidation and violence. Those are fascist methods. Let everybody speak his mind freely and without threats. We shall confront and defeat anybody who intimidates or threatens our peace.” Museveni said.
This warning comes a few days after state minister of Touring Hon. Godfrey Kiwanda Ssubi and Hon. Judith Nabakooba were attacked by locals in Mityana over peddling age limit removal allegations.
Due to the existence of such threats, government has also responded with beefing up security of the National resistance movement members and in majors towns of the country.
