Don’t dare give contraceptives to girls in schools – Janet

 Ugandan First Lady Janet Museveni

First lady Janet Kataha Museveni who doubles as the Minister for Education and sports says she will not allow the distribution of contraceptives to adolescent girls in schools.

Speaking while officiating the international celebrations of the girl child at Kyenjojo district grounds, Janet said contraceptives are dangerous to the lives of children and also go against cultural norms.

She says what is required is to ensure that leaders and parents work together to protect the rights of children in the country.

She says if contraceptives are allowed to be distributed to the young children it’s bound to promote risky sexual behaviours among children including prostitution which will also destroy the future of children.
