Veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda has hit the antagonists of the proposed age limit removal with what he described as the bitter truth.
Speaking during the KFM Hot seat program on Friday, the self-proclaimed old man of the clan said that it would be no offense if president Museveni who never applied for a job of being president decided to return back.
Mwenda added that though it might not be the best civic resolution, but as the proprietor of the National Resistance Movement regime, he knows that all his efforts might be trashed if he opens up any candidate to take over from.
“Museveni has failed to see a potential candidate to smoothly run the party there by deciding to remain in the driving sit. Lets be honest He also knows that without him, the party has no one who can even challenge Dr. Kiiza Besigye who is even having more potential to get a sympathy vote following the time losses and the resilience of not giving up.” Mwanda said.
He however said that the ruling deserves to begin concentration of getting a strong person from another region like North, East or Central to cater for a regional balance since the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) has all its strong bones in the West thus being no different from the ruling party.
“I would wish to see NRM painted yellow with likes of Captain Mike Mukula, Rebecca Kadaga, Gen. Katumba Wamala among others as a sight of political maturity but the issue of Westerners is a big disease that deserves to be diagnosed and eliminated.” Mwenda added.
This hot debate followed the resolution by the ruling party to suspend the party members over not supporting the age limit bill.
