Uganda police force officers have this afternoon blocked opposition leader of the Forum for Democratic Change Dr.Kiiza Besigye.
Besigye who was proceeding to his home in Rukungiri was blocked at Kahengye, an event that forced the retired military officer to get out of his car and start heading to the town on foot.
From nowhere crowds continuously increased and after a short while the masses started demanding for the clearing of way with chanting Anti-Age limit removal songs and slogans.
Police later begged the for time Presidential candidate to get back to his car, he was escorted to the venue as the residents sung heroic songs and the famous Toka Kwa Barabara song.

I fear for the commander of these police officers, who I have to say appear to have exercised common sense and good judgment. It was open to them to resort to their normal behaviour of teargassing and firing bullets at the people, even though the reason would have been self made in that they were blocking a person from travelling lawfully to his home. My concern is that the orders to block the road came from on above and I bet you these “bosses” are spitting blood right now at how KB was not subdued by the police on the ground. This incident also exposes and highlights the lie that M7 and the Police keep peddling that when crowds gather around KB there will be chaos. As far as I can glean from this report, there was no violence or injuries to the general public. To be fair, this was a non story until the police decided to mount the roadblock. This incident might be further evidence that slowly but surely even the security forces are coming round to seeing things from the ordinary citizens point of view. I will say again. M7 thinks that people are trying to destabilise his hold on power. Nobody needs to do anything. He seems capable of doing this all by himself with the lies and brutality meted out to the wanaichi who dare stand in his way. Things seem to be unraveling pretty quickly ever since this age limit thing came about. This is beginning to look like the last straw that broke the camels back as it seems to have galvanised even those Ugandans who hereto were indifferent about their lot.
