Makindye West lawmaker Hon. Allan Ssewanyana has vowed not to dance to the Inspector General of Police’s tunes, intimidation and cowardice orders of stopping anti-age limit removal campaigns.
Speaking while appearing on CBS FM on Thursday evening, the energetic Member of Parliament said he was not voted by Gen. Kale Kayihura therefore he can’t give him orders on how to play his politics and which side to belong to.
Ssewanyana also strongly accused the police force of being partisan something he described as an act against the ethical code of policing.
“How can Kayihura an NRM Cadre continue threatening us, we are members of parliament and have audacity to consult our voters as it was stated by the Speaker of Parliament but you may wonder why we are being fought for doing our work.” Ssewanyana said.
He said this a head of his anti- age limit removal consultative rally that will be held this afternoon along Salama road however It should be noted that Uganda police recently banned joint opposition ant -age limit campaigns yet Hon. Ssewanyana says has invited his counterparts to attend the rally.
