Action in the 2017/18 Fufa Women Elite League (FWEL) resumes this weekend with six games on card across different grounds.
After successfully getting underway last week, attention in the fourth edition will be on defending champions Kawempe Muslim as they begin their title defence.
Kawempe Muslim have won all the past three editions and their quest for a fourth league title will begin at home against Western United on Saturday.
The school side will be starting a new life without some of their star players who moved to other clubs.
The trio of Hasifa Nassuna (the reigning Airtel FUFA Female player of the year), Yudaya Nakayenze and goalkeeper Ruth Aturo all joined UCU Lady Cardinals while Joan Nakirya and Favour Nambatya moved to Redlands College in USA and Muteesa I Royal University respectively.
The two sides faced off last season and Kawempe Muslim won the tie home and away ( 9-0 in Kampala and 5-0 in Rugando).
In the other games to be played on Saturday, Ajax Queens Football Club the only team that won on match day one will be at home to She Corporate at Buddo SS while Kampala Queens under the stewardship of Crested Cranes head coach, Faridah Bulega will make a short trip to Wakiso to take on Wakiso Hills Football Club.
On Sunday, Rines Women’s football club will host Gafford Ladies who played out a goalless draw with She Corporate last week.
New comers Isra Academy play against Uganda Martyrs High School in Kawempe while She MAK (Makerere University Women football team) will be at home to UCU Lady Cardinals in the university derby.
