The Judiciary head office in Kampala is set to undergo renovations that will give the nearly a hundred years old building a face-lift. These are part of the refurbishments the institution will be undertaking this quarter.
“In this quarter, the Judiciary headquarters will be repainted to give the building a face-lift said Mr Sidney Kali, an engineer in the Engineering and Technical Department of the Judiciary said.
The repairs for the Judiciary headquarters are billed at Shs 290 million.
The works are set to commence and according to Eng. Kali, the repairs will be completed in January next year.
Other refurbishment works on the Judiciary headquarters have been earmarked for early next year. The major works to be undertaken include the roofing of the building and is estimated to cost Shs 300 million.
In a related development, at least Shs 1bn has earmarked to refurbish six courts early next year. These include Makindye, Nebbi, Masaka, Mbarara and Buganda Road chief magistrates’ court.
