Kampala Central Member of Parliament Hon. Muhammad Nsereko has decried the manner in which government has handled the issue of civil servants.
Nsereko who made this statement while appearing on CBS FM on Thursday night, the ‘NRM rebel MP’ noted its unfair and treacherous if Parliament ignores matter affecting civil servants especially the doctors.
He also said that in serious governments, the health sector is one department that needs special attention but its unfortunate that Museveni is always thinking about guns and teargas.
“Its so unfortunate that you cannot compare Uganda with Rwanda yet its us that helped Rwanda get independence. A police officer in Uganda sleeps like an animal yet in Rwanda things are fair much different all way round” Nsereko said.
Nsereko also said that Uganda is not broke to an extend that of not paying its employees but its only under leadership of greedy fellows.
Its almost one week since Ugandan doctors under their umbrella body, Uganda Medical Association (UMA) went on a sit-down strike following government’s failure increase their salaries.
According the UMA president Dr. Ekwaro Obuku told the Insider that the strike is still on and will only be called off if government answers their demands regardless of the numerous calls and threats from govern officials.
