Former presidential candidate Dr. Kiiza Besigye was yesterday a 5 Million granted non cash bail from prison where he had spent about two days.
Besigye who was rounded up and arrested from his along in Mbarara town was slapped with 6 counts including malicious damage, unlawful assembly among others.
The four time president hopeful had gone to the area for the forum for Democratic Change rally of party candidate Patrick Amuriat that was blocked by police an event that resulted into exchange of bitter words and firing of tear gas.
Besigye was arrested along with Party Mobiliser Ingrid Turinawe, His personal aid Ronald Muhunda, his driver among others.
