You can’t use court to sabotage Parliament, Kadaga guns down suspended MPs

Kadaga in Parliament

Speaker of Parliament has tactically blocked the suspended Members of Parliament from casting their votes on Age limit bill at a critical time when their presence is much needed like a drop of water in a desert.

Speaking during today’s afternoon setting, Kadaga observed that Court process cannot be served on parliament within the precincts of Parliament when the House is in session.

She added that even the two members of Parliament Hon. Medard Lubega Ssegoona and Hon. Wilfred Nuwagaba who were arrested trying to serve Court process on Parliament suffer the same fate.

“I want to ask you not to abuse my friendship. On Monday the opposition spent filibustering under the leadership of the Leader of the Opposition. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands.” Kadaga said.

Member’s reaction

Hon Winnie Kiiza the leader of opposition said that this country spent money on consultations and Ugandans want to hear those MPs submit their views.

“It is unfortunate that the leader of the opposition has been denied the opportunity to present her views.” She passionately said.

In the same plea, Kapelebyong County MP Julius Ochen has asked the Speaker of Parliament to bear her reputation in mind while presiding over the ongoing debate on the constitution amendment bill 2017.

Ochen has said that there are some members who habour ill-intentions against the speaker.

This group, he says are pushing for a frosty amendment of the constitution to bring down Kadaga’s own reputation.

The lawmaker also says that his voters have threatened to push for a secession from Uganda if the Constitution is tampered with.
