You have to be stupid to survive in NRM – Mao

DP President Norbert Mao

Democratic Party President Norbert Mao has described the ruling National Resistance Movement as a party of people with mental problems.

Speaking while appearing on NBS Frontline, Mao said that survival in NRM depends on the degree of stupidity with the highest surviving.

“They do things you can’t explain. In a situation where your survival depends on being stupid, your intelligence doesn’t matter.” He said.

Mao also wondered how NBS television could once again host what he called a “night dancer”.

“Last week you hosted night dancers here. I thought this week you would spare us. Now you have hosted one. Night dancers are people who are possessed,” Mao added..

Mao believes there is hope for Uganda and leaders have got to re-organise and create a platform for the country for a peaceful transition of power not the tendency of thinking that without President Museveni then there is no Uganda.

“Parliament is a very important institution but I get concerned that MPs don’t know how important they are. I think that is tragic. MPs and our leaders should reclaim who they are. To be respected, you respect yourself first.”

He said the matter will be tested, the legality of the entire process challenged and the doctrine of the entire thing tested.

These bitter statements follow the passing of the controversial constitutional amendment.

It should be noted that Legislators on Tuesday passed the Constitution (Amendment) (No. 2) Bill, 2017 dropping the 75 year upper age limit for presidential candidates and extending the term of Parliament toRapper Binnie Gunterseven years.

After three days of debate and objections by a section of Opposition, Independent and a few NRM MPs, Parliament approved what came to be known as the ‘Age Limit Bill’ with the required two thirds majority on Wednesday night.

At the third reading, the last stage before a Bill becomes an Act, 315 MPs voted in favour, while 62 rejected the Bill, with 2 MPs abstaining.

This means that will not conduct general elections till in 2023 also making Museveni viable to stand for presidency up to 2037 meaning that God willing Museveni can rule Uganda for about 5o years.
